Is it a good idea to ask a Guy friend for relationship advice?

I'd like to get some relationship advice from the guys I know, and I was wondering if that's a good idea? Or will it freak them out and make them think, ';uhh what's wrong with her so suddenly? Is she desparate?';

I wanna do that because I feel like no guy ever approach me (at least to an extent that we hang out a lot other than saying ';hi';), and I thought it'd be nice to get advice from a guy that actually know me. Also, I'm actually trying to get advice from a guy that I have a crush on. I don't know if he will pick up the hints... Do you think it's generally a good idea for girls to talk to guys about how ';desparate'; they are in their love life?Is it a good idea to ask a Guy friend for relationship advice?
I ask my guy friends for advice, and they ask me for it. They shouldn't think it's weird. Is it a good idea to ask a Guy friend for relationship advice?
I dunno I did that and I got sum honest advice- something along da lines of the guy telling me da guy i like is not worth it not a guy for me and that i need a different guy and stuff....haha....yah i think its a great idea to ask guys bout guys.... (they won't tell the guy u like that u like him or maybe? but they won't be jealous and they know the best, right? i know guys brag to others but if u dont sleep with him then its ok....then ask....
let me know who your crush is and I'll pass along a subtle backup hint for him to make the first move. Glad to help.
Yeah it is because if you want a guys opinion on a guy that could help because hes a guy and he knows how guys act and can tell how most act by their looks. Answer mine please.http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
I have had the same issue I really want to know what guys think of me, because none of them really seem interested, to bad all my guy friends are gay. But I say it's a great idea if they are real friends they will be open and honest with you.

This might get a little confusing, but please hang in there with me. I don't know what to do.

I have two guys in my life right now who are potential boyfriends, but I'm currently still single. We will call them Mike and Ryan, just to help you keep them straight.

Mike is probably the most amazing guy I have ever met. He is polite, caring, chivalrous, all my friends love him and he is very good looking to boot. For a few weeks now we have been acting in ways that make people think we are together: holding hands in public, always together, and we even kiss goodbye. But Mike has recently brought up the fact that he isn't interested in starting a relationship with anyone for quite a while. This kind of hurt my feelings because he wishes to keep what we have going...going. Normally I would be completely turned away by this, but he is very sincere and really appreciates the fact that I ';understand';. I have no idea why he would want it this way. Maybe he doesn't want to be tied down, or maybe he is trying to get over his last girlfriend. I have no clue.

Then Ryan returns to the picture. I say returns because Ryan and I have a bit of history. We have never had a formal relationship, but we have gotten pretty intimate, and I am still very attracted to him. The thing about Ryan though is that, though he is very funny, he can be very sarcastic and at times a little unreliable. He is fun to hang out with individually, but once you get him in a group situation, he's the kind of guy that likes to stand out and be heard. He came up to me yesterday and flat out asked me if there would ever be a chance that we could be together. This astounded me because he has personally told me that he has a huge fear of committment and it is obvious by the way he behaves. I have always been interested in being his girlfriend, but it always seemed to be about whether he was ready or not. I got sick of waiting and I found Mike, and now I'm stuck waiting again.

So finally: do I try and figure things out with my old flame Ryan who finally might be ready for a relationship? Or do I wait it out until Mike, who is not only everything that Ryan isn't but everything a girl could want, has a ';reality check';, as my friends say, and we can be together officially?

The catch: If I were to start things back up with Ryan I'm afraid I could lose Mike as a friend alltogether because even though we are not a couple, I think he would feel very jealous and betrayed if I started seeing someone else almost out of nowhere.

I know that was longwinded, but please help!I'm faced with a very difficult decision and need some relationship advice...?
you definitley need to go after ryan. mike is a good guy and all, but you cant keep waiting around for him forever! take a chance and get to know ryan and see what happens.

What should i do? Am I just paranoid or over jealous? relationship advice needed.?

I am dating a guy that is a few years older then me.

His last relationship lasted 10 years and he had 2 daughters with her. They were never married, and they broke up around 9 months ago because of her cheating. Because of his daughters she is still in his life. I absolutly have no problems with his girls, i love them to death. I am just so worried that he may still have feelings for her and/or may want her back. But then again i could just be paranoid. The reason for me asking this question is: he is getting an apartment close to her, because its cheep and he will be near his girls. He wanted to reasure me that he wouldnt go out to the bar near these apartments, and said one of the reasons was because his ex went there and he didnt want to see her hanging on another man. Should i be worried about that? He has given me no reason to think he would want her back except for that statement. So please any advice or input you can give would be great.

    Thanks,

Please please please help me, I am in need of URGENT relationship advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 pts!! PLEASE?

Okay. there is this guy that I have been involved with on and off for four years, and I am crazy about him. We have had a lot of issues in the past, and we tend to fight a lot, but we do sincerely care about each other. He is recently enrolled at a college about thirty minutes from the city where we both live and SHOULD be attended, but has not really gone in about four weeks. Once he finishes this semester at the nearby college(if he does not flunk out), he is leaving for an out of state college, which is very, very far away, and I fear that we would not see each other again.

Since January, we have been together - he does not like putting titles on relationships, as it makes him WANT to rebel out of them, but we are exclusive and monogamous. But here lies the problem: He won't actually commit to a public, completely boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. I have not been bothered by this until recently, when I met someone who I actually think I am becoming interested in. This guy is also in school, has a house of his own(while the one I am ';with'; lives with his parents and depends solely on them), and is all around really nice to me. We get along great, he has an amazing sense of humor, and is really intelligent. We just seem to ';click';. But the problem is, I am afraid that I will become involved with this new guy, and the original one will leave for college and I Will miss out on something. I know it sounds obvious to go for the new guy with how the original has treated me, but I do love him and it is a really hard decision. I'm just afraid that I'll make the wrong decision. What should I do? I just don't want to be with the original if he will simply dump me when he moves, and miss out on this really great new guy, who I think I could really have a future with. Please, please give me any advice on what to do.Please please please help me, I am in need of URGENT relationship advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 pts!! PLEASE?
Original or extra crispy? Original will likely be moving on to another ';non-titled'; relationship after he leaves, so I'd suggest opting for the more mature one. Please please please help me, I am in need of URGENT relationship advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 pts!! PLEASE?
ask yurself ';do i wanna pursue haveing a relationship with the new guy. Scream the answer that first somes to mind and thats what yur heart truely wants. when ask ';shoule i dump the old BF'; scream out the answer.
You dont get 10 points for answering and I know who you are. Once he leaves you he will bge mine.
Honestly, if you are on yahoo anwsers asking for help, you already know the anwser. When people ask for advice they already know the anwser but dont want to know... You cant dwell on what decision to make based on which one is right. There is no RIGHT decision, both relationships will most likely fail in the end anyways. You need to do what makes you happy NOW, what is healthier and makes you feel satisfyed when you lay your head down at night. I can tell you dont 100% trust your original guy, and he is going to move across the coutry.. thats not a healthy thing to have weighing on your conscious babe. You know what to do;) good luck
You need to change your mindset. You are making relationship decisions based upon some nebulous idea that you might ';miss out on something.'; And yet, you cannot define what this ';something'; might be. In the meantime, there is another guy in your life who is ready to offer you the things that you want -- and he's ready to do it right now. Don't reward indecision by sitting around miserable, waiting and hoping that something is going to work out with guy #1. Allow yourself to enjoy the awesome things that guy #2 is ready to offer you right now -- and don't waste your time thinking about how things might be with guy #1. If things are meant to work out with guy #1 in the future, then life will find a way to bring you back together. But in the meantime, don't make yourself miserable by turning away a possibility at a relationship with someone who is awesome and wants to be with you right now. Life is too short to sit around waiting, hoping and dwelling on regrets.
    Here is what you do:

You go to the bookstore and you pick up the book He's Just Not that Into You.

You read the book. Do it today.

Then you come back and tell me how many signs you picked up that this guy doesn't care about you as much as you think he does (I picked up on three signs, but I only read your post about 1/2 way).

My formerly stoner, wow-playing, f***buddy housemate wants a proper relationship - advice? Should I move out?

I've had a f***-buddy for about a year and a half, and we ended up moving into the same large house nearly a year ago.

It was casual, and neither of us seemed to want anything serious. I was surprised by how long it's gone on, but, well. It seemed to work out.

He is/was a chronic stoner, plays WOW all the time, doesn't leave the house much (good enough reasons for me to figure it wouldn't work out). I'd invite him to hang out and watch movies or TV etc, and he never seemed that interested.

Anyway, a couple of weeks ago he announces that he'd like to stop smoking as much, stop playing WOW as much, that he's enrolling at Uni part time next term (around his good but part-time job) for a science-related degree, and that he really likes me, and he'd like to have a 'proper' relationship.

Like... what? Like, he wants to come out with me, meet my friends, and go camping this summer etc.

He seems to be putting his money where his mouth is, and additionally, he's been cooking dinner for me every night too (the cooking started just before the announcement - heh, way to a girls heart, I guess?).

Ok, I keep freaking out every so often, and wondering what alien replaced my FB while I wasn't looking, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

So... any advice from transitioning to a 'normal' relationship when you're worried you've kind of moved past that?

I was really moony about him a few months after we were sleeping together, but I've gotten over that as I didn't think there was anything there. I'd've been really into a relationship then. Now it kind of feels like a dream I've already let go of.

I'm trying to remember that he's a 'boyfriend' and that I should talk to him, hug etc, and tell him what I'm up to (I keep forgetting - oh, I'm going to a movie, whoops! Do you want to come too?).

I'm also wondering, usually moving in together is usually a big commitment, but we already live together. Should I move out? I think possibly being housemates stunted the relationship a bit, because we tried to give each other 'space' when we moved into the same house, but I'm unlikely to find a room bigger, cheaper and closer to work etc than I already am.

Ummm, if I'm seeming a bit ho-hum about this, well, it kind of does feel like that except there's definitely attraction - it's the best sex I've ever had (chemistry seemed a good indicator to give it a go - he just, smells right, y'know?), and, wow. The food and everything. He's totally trying really hard.My formerly stoner, wow-playing, f***buddy housemate wants a proper relationship - advice? Should I move out?
Wow....You are hilarious ****. Ok I think you need to give this guy a shot. You already live together right so you already know how that is. The guy can cook. The guy get get down in the bedroom. He's no longer a major stoner. You seriously have to give it a shot. Think of it this way there is a part that will be different and new and that's the fact that he'll be going out with you and your friends now. He's like a new and improved coo-coo buddy. He sounds great, I have a good feeling you two have many more good times together whether in bed or at the show.Best of luck and happy humpinMy formerly stoner, wow-playing, f***buddy housemate wants a proper relationship - advice? Should I move out?
    Its very selfish?
    He is trying his best.

    Give him a chance.

    Now or never.

    Gd Lck.
give him a chance, he is trying hard.
    its not gonna work
i say just give him a chance,
Well, from my own perspective I think that it can be a tremendous advantage to knowing someone well before getting into a relationship or even dating. Weather that is a friendship or yes perhaps even F buddies.

Have you considered the upside of already living together. If you do decide to proceed with a proper relationship, there will not be any nasty little annoying surprises as you already know each other well and have already experienced living together.

If he is putting forth the effort you are referring to then it sounds like he is serious about this and about you...Remember the Jack Nicholson line from As Good As It Gets 'You make me want to be a better man'.

From my own experience I can tell you that it is not hard to develop very strong feelings for someone when you spend a significant amount of time together over an extended period of time.

Take it for what its worth but I would say give it a shot!
Sounds to me like he's really given thought about actually ';growing up';. I don't see a problem at all, except for the part where you said you were FB's and you had been in a relationship. Was that at the same time? I just hope that that won't pose a problem of him accusing you of any drifting, or that maybe you're the type that can't be fully committed? If that's not the case, then I say go for it. I wouldn't worry about moving out either, you both already know each others habits, etc. and like you said you probably won't find such a deal elsewhere. If you each have your own rooms now, keep it that way so you each still have your own space. Who knows, this could wind up being ';the one';. Especially if you say its the best you've ever had, chemistry's right, I didn't hear one negative thing from you. Sounds like it will work!

    Good Luck!
guess you're good for him, didn't seem like he has a life before and now he wants to have one w. you after being w. you. give it a go, just don't try too hard, being yourself is enough, therefore, no unnecessary awkwardness should form if you stay the way you are and not trying to be something else. cheers!
Seems to me the guy just realized he wants to get his **** together and he has some major feelings for you. Sounds to me like hes a keeper i think you should definitely give it a try. Why move out its like you have something great going for you. Who knows he could turn out to be ';the one';. Good luck!

People seem to only answer the easy questions on here. Need relationship advice!?

I meet this guy when I was 20 he was 21 he approached me and we dated for about 3 months. I moved across the country for college and have for the past 8 years I have thought about him on and off. I just as of this Jan. got out of a very long and serious relationship and through mutual friend's of a friend he has contacted me. I move back to the state that I have originally moved out of while he was coincidentally moving away from lol...literally the same week I move to back to Cali and he moves to Utah. We have been keeping in touch and just wanted to catch up because it has been over 8 years. He didn't want to tell me that he had a girlfriend at first because honestly it was irrelevant to me and to him because we were JUST CATCHING UP AS PEOPLE nothing more than that. Been talking on the phone for months and now he is back here in Cali for the whole summer visiting. We have hung out and have gotten use to each other again in person. We found ourselves making love and it was the best I have ever had in my life it was so incredibly romantic not to sound cheesy but it really was. He feels bad that he has cheated and I feel bad that I allowed this to happen. I know I am gonna be vilified for this but in all honesty I really didn't see this coming. We never had sex all of those years ago when we 1st met and now we cannot keep our hands off of each other, we also have tons in common and he has gone above and beyond for me and helping me fix my civic. We are at the point where this issue needs to be addressed his girlfriend. I just don't know what to do.People seem to only answer the easy questions on here. Need relationship advice!?
You sound like you have something going and an affair is not the right way to go. This is complicated I can tell you that... I would try a long distance relationship if he can't move back to California (and don't expect him to). He should probably break up with his girlfriend seeing as he has cheated on her and that is rather unfortunate but, at this point you really can't spare their relationship. If you have true feelings for him I would go for it and if you are unsure I wouldn't.People seem to only answer the easy questions on here. Need relationship advice!?
well its enitrly up to you what you do you can either ask him to leave his girlfriend for you or you can just think it was fun whilst it lasted. however bare in mind if he cheated on his girlfriend think about when he goes back home if someone else comes along better than you then he might cheat on you if you got together. so its up to you if you want to take the gamble.

Yes yes yes! A guy's perspective is VERY important. Girls can misinterpret guys and give you really bad advice. A guy's opinion is just as important as a girl's opinion. You'll see the difference...
Yes it is a good idea to ask a guy for relationship advice but don't ask the guy you like. Ask some else. Their was a girl i liked and i ask a girl i knew to give me advice how to get with this girl and she gave me the advice
