Addict, clean 15 months while in prison for DUI, relationship advice?

Hi I have known this man for 10 years, but lost touch. We picked back up with talking and writing and visiting about 7 months ago while he has been in prison and since have decided to have a more serious commitment. His life turned bad for many years ago and he ended up with a 3rd dui. He has been in prison and will be released soon, clean while in prison for 12 months, when out of prison about 3 months. He has rededicated his life to God, wants to change and vows he is done with drugs. I deeply care about him. I have youong children I need to raise (my own) so I am scared about this. that is a tough one...





my advice, while probably not what you want to hear, is to be his friend and support him through the hard road he's on, but don't get too close. His personality may not allow him to completely break free of his problem, and it is a lifetime of tears for the woman (and children) by his side.
no!!! people who have been in jail .....have all these mental problems i'd keep my kids away from him..... people like that never change ... only a few of addicts 12 percent cahnce thats so smalL!!! ...... i wouldn't take a chance ...and alot of them are child molestors....and turn out to have sexual issues.... this is not a good idea
